public

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 9.10 AM ON THURSDAY 19 JUNE 2008

Nearly 50 teeth have now been found at Haut de la Garenne.

The latest total is 48. All the teeth – apart from the one found in the cistern which was on the last press release on 11 June -  were found in either cellars three or four, or a corridor which links the two cellar areas.

Since 11 June, when we last updated you, a further 21 teeth have been found bringing the total to 48.

Work including a detailed sieving process still continues at Haut de la Garenne.

Although detailed testing has yet to take place, early indications are that most if not all the teeth found are milk teeth.

There are currently 26 teeth in the UK undergoing examination while the rest remain in Jersey. Once the sieving process is complete, the remaining teeth will be submitted for examination in the UK.
