Charges have been dismissed against an Aurora woman accused of causing the death of her 6-year-old adopted son by shaking him.
Prosecutors said they couldn't prove beyond a reasonable doubt that Royce Elaine Clark, 54, caused the injuries that resulted in Hoa Nguyen's death.
The boy died April 17 at Children's Hospital, three days after he was rushed to the hospital from Clark's home. An autopsy showed he died of complications from head injuries.
Clark was scheduled to go to trial next week on first-degree murder and child abuse charges.
