Foster Father Arraigned On Homicide Charge In Dodge County

Man Accused Of Beating Foster Sons

JUNEAU, Wis. -- A Waupun man accused of fatally beating one foster son and injuring another was arraigned in Dodge County on Monday.

Shane Marquardt stood silent in court while not guilty pleas were entered on his behalf.

Marquardt is accused of fatally punching 3-year-old Camron Gardner and injuring 2-year-old Ethan Schwartz last May. Camron Gardener died from internal injuries while Ethan Schwartz needed to be hospitalized.

The foster father is charged with first-degree reckless homicide and first-degree reckless injury.
