PEORIA (AP) -- The death of a three-year old Putnam County girl has been ruled a homicide.

Jordan Cain of Granville died at OSF St. Francis Medical Center in Peoria on October $25th. An autopsy revealed the cause of death as abdominal bleeding due to blunt force trauma.

Shawn Brannon of the Illinois State Police says Matthew Archer is charged with first-degree murder in the child's death and is jailed on five million bond.

Archer was the live-in boyfriend of the victim's aunt, and authorities accuse him of kneeing the child in the stomach.
