Man accused of sex acts with minors

A 22-year-old man accused of performing multiple sexual acts on minors appeared at a bail hearing Wednesday in Kern County Superior Court.

Justin James Erbacher was arrested April 4 on charges of molesting five children, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department.

Last week, the Bakersfield Police Department was informed by Child Protective Services of an alleged molestation in a foster-care home of a 13-year-old girl, according to the KGET Channel 17 Web site.

The investigation revealed four other girls, ages 5 to 11, were reportedly abused by Erbacher, Bakersfield police said.

Erbacher has been charged with 23 counts of sexual abuse, according to the Kern County Sheriff's Department's Web site.

Erbacher's bail has been set at $400,000.
