Foster Care Shut Down After Child's Death

August 23, 2006

A Detroit foster care agency is shut down after a toddler died at one of its foster homes.

The State Department of Human Services suspended the license of Lula Belle Stewart Center.

The agency works with more than 80 foster homes, which will now be supervised by the Department of Human Services.

The decision comes a week after Isaac Lethbridge, 2, was found beaten to death at a foster home in Detroit.

The Wayne County Medical Examiner ruled his death a homicide.
