MILWAUKEE (AP) - A Milwaukee couple is still waiting for answers after their baby boy died in foster care last week - two days after being removed from their home along with three other children.
The boy's father said the youngster had a checkup a week earlier and was healthy as could be.
A report from the Milwaukee County Medical Examiner's Office said 2-month-old Robert R. Whitman was found dead by the caregiver Thursday morning at the foster home.
The report says a child welfare worker had removed the four children two days earlier because of filthy conditions in the residence and bruises on one child.
But the boy's mother says she hadn't cleaned while sick with a virus. And his father says the bruises probably were from 2 of the youngsters jumping on the bed, something they love to do.
Now the parents are planning a funeral Thursday for their youngest son.
