PORTERVILLE -- Rachel Joy Thompson died after an older sibling sat on her back for more than three hours, squeezing the life out of her, prosecutors alleged Monday.
Rachel, 5, hunched over in her seat while the sibling climbed on top of her during the car ride to Sequoia Family Medical Center, where she was later found not breathing, said Carol Turner, an assistant district attorney in Tulare County.
Rachel's mother, Angela Thompson of Springville, is accused of torturing and murdering her adoptive daughter.
