Bribe for not testifying

public

OCALA - One of the adopted sons of alleged sex-abuser David Allen Lindsey Sr., the first single man in Florida ever allowed to legally adopt children, has been arrested on charges of trying to bribe another youth into not testifying against Lindsey. Scott Lee Jones, 19, who has been living with Lindsey in Ocala, posted $5,000 bail and was released from the Marion County Jail in Ocala on Friday. Police charged him with witness tampering and solicitation to commit perjury. According to court documents prepared by Boynton Beach police, Jones offered $1,000 to a 17-year-old boy from Lindsey's former neighborhood, asking him to recant statements accusing Lindsey of sexual abuse. Lindsey was arrested in June 1987 and charged with sexually abusing five children. Three of the children withdrew their statements within a week. Counties added to court district
