Bright Future Camp - Chinese children

Opportunities For Adopting an Older Child from China
Gladney was honored to partner with the China Center for Adoption Affairs in hosting a 2 day program for twenty-two older adoptable children living in The Beijing Second Social Welfare Institute. The children, all between the ages of 6 and 13, took part in a program to learn about family life in America. The CCAA and Gladney Center hope to find adoptive families for these children and the purpose of the camp program was to begin preparing the children for life in a family. The children enjoyed the program -- having fun, meeting new people, and volunteering to show-off some of their artistic and athletic talents.

We are hopeful that these children can continue on their journey of hope to be united with a forever family. If you are interested in learning more about these children, please make your
request on-line or by emailing.

Bright Futures Camp - China
Gladney is pleased to announce Bright Futures Camp - China, and a change in destination. Rather than bringing children to the United States, this year adventurous prospective parents are invited to travel to China. What an exciting opportunity to brighten the life of a child living in an orphanage, and experience the culture first hand.

Gladney is looking for families who are willing to open their hearts to an older child from China. Ranging in age from 7 to 14, healthy boys and girls can't wait to "camp" with a loving family. Children and families will experience a week of camp activities and site seeing along with Gladney staff and in-country representatives. Find out more by logging on to brightfuturescamp.com.

The poster of this link said "Click on International on the left and then China.

Elizabeth updated the Bright Futures blog with pictures from the camp. (Posted in my previous post above). That's our China director Gongzhan Wu on the floor with the kids in the first picture. They are all so adorable!!!

Open Your Hearts!
There are millions of children living in orphanages around the globe. These children will likely never experience the love and nurturing that a forever family can provide. It is Gladney's hope that the annual "Bright Futures Camp" will increase awareness of the need for international adoption and help orphans around the world. The mission of the camp is to build positive awareness of international adoption and increase awareness of the many more children in orphanages needing permanent homes.

Based on Gladney's successful US based Bright Futures Camp, this camp offers a fun-filled week of camp activities including site seeing and the opportunity to spend time with a loving prospective family. Being in China offers some additional benefits to both parents and children. By going to China, families can spend more time with their child before placement and have the opportunity to experience Chinese culture first hand -- both of these experiences will help build a strong foundation and bond. Additionally, because the children remain on familiar turf, they experience less culture shock and feel more at ease with prospective parents.
