Namaste Nchilders,

We are seeking creative ways to break the current impasse for the 440+
nearly-completed files and for those who wish to adopt from Nepal in
the near-term future. The world is becoming smaller, with degrees of
separation narrowing between people who are part of Nchild (or
otherwise connected as friends and supporters) and those who are in
positions of power and influence.

We are seeking ways to tap into these links through this network. So
far we have identified individuals who are within two degrees of
separation of Laura Bush, Condoleeza Rice, Angelina Jolie, and Katie
Couric. We are seeking support from those among you who may have
closer connections with these individuals and/or others who can
influence high-level decision-makers in the USA and other countries –
especially within the European Union. Please do what you can to
contact these people, requesting their help in resolving this
humanitarian crisis immediately.

Children have a right to be part of loving families, where their needs
for devotion, food, education, and healthcare can be met. Many of the
440+families were first matched with children 8 to 14 months ago.
During this extended waiting period the incidence of "failure to
thrive" has increased dramatically, there have been several serious
injuries, and newly abandoned babies are now being refused from
orphanages.

We would appreciate any efforts you can make to help resolve this
crisis. Time is of the essence. With the political instability in
Nepal, the approaching Dashain and Tihar holidays, and the scheduled
Constituent Assembly elections (November 22nd), it is probable that if
the situation is not resolved soon then children and parents will not
be reunited until the late Spring or Summer of 2008.

If you have any questions, or want further information please contact
us through this email.

In solidarity and hope,

A group of parents who want to be united with their children now
