Woman from Billings facing charges in child's death
A Skyview High graduate who now lives in Colorado is facing first-degree murder and child abuse charges in the death of her 3-year-old adopted son.
Michelle Dosdall, 39, of Peyton, Colo., surrendered to authorities on April 2 and is being held in the El Paso County jail without bond, sheriff’s officials said.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported that deputies were called to the Dosdall home on March 24 and found the boy, Tristan, unconscious and having difficulty breathing. He was taken off life support March 31 after being declared brain dead.
According to the arrest affidavit, Dosdall told a detective that the boy hit his head after a bath while she was in another room. Later, while doing physical therapy exercises, she said he suddenly went limp and his eyes rolled back, according to the affidavit.
The Colorado Springs Gazette reported that Dosdall’s 5-year-old son told a caseworker that Tristan was injured while doing the exercises. He said his mother had given Tristan a bath, “then sit-ups and then boom.”
The 5-year-old has been removed from the home and is in the custody of county social services.
According to Billings Gazette records, the then-Michelle Scheetz graduated from Skyview High and married Stasey Dosdall, a Senior High graduate, in 1998. Michelle Dosdall moved to Colorado after getting married, according to a wedding announcement published in The Billings Gazette.
Stasey Dosdall was not home when the injury happened, the Colorado Springs Gazette reported.
