Judge Sergio Castro defends accusations
Sergio Castro, third judge of the Criminal Instance, said yesterday that it had resolved to abide by law in the resolution which granted freedom to a doctor and a lawyer accused of having participated in an illegal adoption, despite signs of social groups.
The declaration of Castro arises because the Survivor Foundation called last Monday, the judge was being investigated by the International Commission against Impunity in Guatemala.
Castro explained that in the case of medical Feliciano Hernández temporarily closed for the process, because the Prosecution failed to provide proof of grafotecnia [handwriting] to determine whether the accused had signed a certificate in which he falsified the identity of a girl of 2 years.
Also ordered to file the case against the lawyer Otto Gálvez, because, in his opinion, only acted as legal representative of the adoptive parents. However, social groups show that the forgery was established, the two were linked to process.

Sergio Castro, juez tercero de Instancia Penal, aseguró ayer que ha resuelto apegado a Derecho en la resolución donde otorgó la libertad a un médico y a un abogado, sindicados de haber participado en una adopción ilegal, pese a señalamientos de grupos sociales.
La declaración de Castro se origina debido a que la Fundación Sobrevivientes pidió, el lunes último, que el juez fuera investigado por la Comisión Internacional contra la Impunidad en Guatemala.
Castro explicó que en el caso del médico Feliciano Hernández clausuró de manera provisional el proceso, porque la Fiscalía no aportó una prueba de grafotecnia para determinar si el sindicado había firmado un certificado en el cual se falsificó la identidad de una niña de 2 años.
Además, ordenó archivar el proceso contra el abogado Otto Gálvez, porque, a su criterio, solo actuó como mandatario judicial de los padres adoptivos. Sin embargo, grupo sociales señalan que se estableció la falsificación, por lo que ambos quedaron ligados a proceso.
