Re: [EthiopiaAdopt] Re: ATMs Bettina in Addis

Hello Lyvonne and thank you for the encouragement.  The process is extremely difficult at the moment but hopefully we can get through it.  I must say that it is difficult to be able to see her all the time and not bring her home.  But hopefully time will be kind.  However, congrats on your traveling!

Regarding the bank card you will need your personal bank card with a VISA logo on it, I should have been more specific.

If you are in town while I am I would absolutely love to meet with you.  I will be traveling to Holland (May 15-May 31) for work, but otherwise I will be in Addis.  Please tell your daughters they are free to email me personally if they want to talk about volunteering.  There surely is unlimited opportunity for it here.

I hope to see you in Addis :)

Bettina,

Hello and I hope you are progressing well with your adoption of your daughter.  Concerning ATMs in Addis, do you mean I need to use my actual VISA card or my personal bank account ATM card that has the VISA logo?

We are hoping to be traveling in the next 60 days and I would love to meet you, perhaps at the Hilton.  Our two eldest daughters would like to work/volunteer in Ethiopia upon graduating High School and they would love to talk to you.

Blessings,

Lyvonne

The book is a bit out-dated, thank goodness as ATM's are are my only
cash flow while living in Addis :)

There may be more ATM's than I am aware of but I have personally used
three:
Hilton Hotel
Sheraton Hotel
Dembel Center (Bole Rd)

All ATM's only accept VISA. However, if desparate there are unlimited
Western Unions sprinkling the city. ATM's are the best way to
exchange money as they do not charge any commission like American
Express or Exchange services which is usually 7%.
