Northwest Airlines and KLM Royal Dutch Airlines want to help you and your new family member off to a flying start. Special Delivery^SM fares are available to families adopting children from any of our over 100 international destinations throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, India and the Middle East.

Special Delivery fares make it easier to bring your son or daughter home.

We've designed Special Delivery to meet an adopting family's unique needs:

• Open returns and stopovers are permitted.
• Available up to the last seat in main cabin.
• Business Class options available.
• One excess piece of luggage consideration when needed.
• Available to immediate family members (adopting parents and their children).

To qualify, all you need to do is provide us with some of the information you have already received during your adoption process:

• Name and phone number of your adoption agency.
• Information from your Notice of Favorable Determination letter (INS I-171-H or I-797C)
  • Date of completion of Advanced Processing.
  • Location to which your approved Advanced Processing Application has been forwarded.
• Proof of your U.S. residency.

Terms and Conditions:

Adoption fares are valid for roundtrip travel for parents and siblings of adopted child solely on NW/KL from the 50 United States to any of 100 destinations throughout Asia, Africa, Europe, India and the Middle East served by Northwest Airlines/KLM Royal Dutch Airlines. Northwest Airlink and Northwest designated flights operated by Mesaba, Business Express, Pinnacle Airlines, Horizon Air, American Eagle, America West, Alaska Airlines, Eurowings and KLM Cityhopper are permitted. Flights operated by other affiliates/Airlinks are not permitted Tickets must be booked in Coach Class (Y Class) or World Business Class (C Class). Name and number of Adoption agency and information from INS form I-171-H or I-797C, as listed above, must be included when making reservation. If the adoption information provided to NW/KLM is proven to be false, the passenger will be contacted and a normal fare will be offered. 65% off full Y fares or 50% off full adult J Fares for roundtrip travel originating in the United States. Passenger must pay taxes/fees/surcharges/PFC's. For adopted children two years of age or older OR infants under two years of age occupying a seat: 65% off full adult Y fare or 50% off full adult J fare, provided the parents are traveling on a Special Delivery ticket. For infants not occupying a seat: Special adoption discount is not available. Passenger is advised to pay 10% of lowest applicable published fare per the published fare rule.

NOTE: A limited number of bassinets are available on International flights at no additional cost. Bassinets will hold infants up to 20 pounds (9 kg), 26 inches (65 cm) and are on a request only basis. None WorldPerks Elite upgrades permitted on U.S. domestic flights per program rules. Otherwise not valid with any coupon/cert/upgrade/airscript. Children/infants/senior discounts are not permitted or valid with any other coupon/certificate/airscript/discount including infant/child/senior/student. Banked mileage upgrades are not permitted. Changes are permitted anytime free of charge. Some World Business Class fares may be day-of-the-week specific and any difference in the amount resulting from a change in itinerary must be paid according to the fare rule. Stand-by is not permitted when travelling on or connecting to an international flight

Cancellations/Refunds: Unused coupons are fully refundable. In the case when a previously issued non-refundable ticket was applied towards the adoption fare, the amount of the original ticket remains non-refundable. Passengers are eligible for WorldPerks mileage credit. One excess piece of luggage will be allowed per family if needed with the normal fees waived. Additional excess luggage/special luggage items/oxygen/PTA charges are not eligible for discount.
