i remember my mother always having her own food. she always had to have her own special treats. special cookies and ice cream. she loved to treat herself like a queen.

i learned to cook for myself when i was very young. i had to. she wouldn't.
My dad on occassion would be a short-order cook -- burgers and stuff. He'd burn them mostly and curse, of course. My mom didn't know how to cook. She came from money, so she wasn't expected to cook. Food at our house sucked. I always wanted to eat at other people's houses!
