Sleep, Needs, and The Phantoms That Disturb The Cycle

I first learned about Phantom Limb Pain [ http://www.mayoclinic.com/health/phantom-pain/DS00444 ] in Nursing School.  It's one thing to read about it in a text-book; it's another thing to walk into a room and see a person screaming about the pain in a leg that was no longer there due to an accident or surgical procedure.  "Scary" is an understatement.

Image and Association

We all have mental images of what good and evil looks like; more than likely those images have color associations that go with them as well.  For instance, evil for me is not necessarily in the image of this devil-creature that's red and carries a strange looking pitch-fork.

Self-Recovery

Imagine being lost, finding yourself one day in a crisis situation, and suffocating because you are buried under piles of fallen debris.  Imagine calling for help and no one coming to your rescue, and never seeing your parents or your family ever again, (unless you have the money/resources to pay someone to find them for you).  Imagine being trapped in an enclosed tomb,  that tomb is re-named your new-home, and that new-home is guarded by adoptive/foster parents.  Imagine through the magic of a pen and paper, those adults are able to call you their child

Making Odd Connections

I did it again.  I made a seemingly random, odd and obscure connection to a theme that many see and recognize, but few write about.  I posted a sample of another person's writing about animals and their relationship to love and trust's growing pains.  [see: A Lesson on Love from Cats]

I'll be honest, I don't like cats.  Never did.  I also believe cats don't like me.  It's a Trust Issue, no doubt.  I was attacked by a cat once when I was babysitting a kid I didn't like very much.  Looking back, I realize it was the father I didn't like because he seemed creepy.  Ironically, the girl was adopted, yet I felt no personal connection with her because she liked cats.  All it took was one bad-experience with a vicious, scary cat, and I refuse to like cats.  Ok, I'm allergic to them too, but it seems most true-blue dog-people don't go for cat-people, anyway.  I don't make the rules, I just write about them.  Contrary to some opinions, humans ARE animals, as we sense things, we smell things, we feel things our minds can't always explain.  I believe such senses belong to a group called Instincts, and all kidding associations aside, I think the more we relate to animals, the better we will become as a single species.

The Criminal Mind

I'm the one and only person to admit, what happened to me, through the hands of my adoptive parents, was in all aspects in my mind, criminal.  For the protective sake of others, personal details need to be removed, so the facts I present can be approved by any major institution willing to help me with my own special breed of child protection service and studies.
