2005 2nd World Conference on Children without Parents

Focus on Adoption was a major sponsor of the Second  Annual World Conference on Children without Parental Care which was held 9011 November 2005, in Boston,  Massachusetts.  Multiple child advocate experts, including Jacob Doek,  Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child,  Elizabeth Bartholet,  Harvard Law Professor and Director of its Child Advocacy Program,  Sara Dillon,  Professor of Law at University of Massachusetts,  Hannah Wallace,  President of Focus on Adoption and Rodolfo Rivera,  Vice President of Focus on Adoption spoke on a number of issues relative to adoption and the rights of children without parents.     The event format will included general sessions, workshops, and roundtable discussions.

Child-welfare policymakers from Russia,  Ukraine,  Kazakhstan, Viet Nam,  Mexico,  the Bahamas,  El Salvador,  Nicaragua,  Honduras,  Azerbaijan,  The Republic of Georgia,  Armenia, Guatemala and  and many more attended this event which will feature speakers from around the world.

The event was sponsored by International Advocates for Children, Focus on Adoption, and Center for Adoption Research. Jakob Doek, Chairman of the United Nations Committee on the Rights of the Child, will be the keynote speaker. Harvard University  sponsored one of the key workshops during the conference.
