Amon G. Carter and his wife, Nenetta Burton Carter, incorporated the Amon G. Carter Foundation in 1945. In 1947, upon the sale of the Wasson Field oil interests, the Foundation was fundedwith $8,511,712 coming 60% from Mr. Carter and 40% from Mrs. Carter.
