2013-09-19: Felony Child Abuse

What initially began as a missing child investigation resulted in the arrest of Phil and Kimberly Loesch of Harbor Springs. Both Phil and Kimberly Loesch were charged with three counts of Felony Child Abuse – 2nd Degree. On July 15th 2013, the Emmet County Sheriff’s Office was called to Readmond Township for a missing 13 year old boy. After a grueling two day search the boy was located in Cross Village. Sheriff Pete Wallin states, “During the course of the search my office received several tips as to the reason why this young man may have left his home.” After the boy was located, an investigation began regarding possible child abuse by his adopted parents.

Both Kim and Phil turned themselves into the sheriff’s office and are out on a $10,000 bond. Sheriff Wallin asks if anyone has information regarding this case to please call (231) 439-8900.

2013-07-17: Missing Child FOUND

2017-07-17: Dalton Loesch was located near a Cross Village residence on 7-17-13 at approximately 6:50 a.m. A concerned citizen observed a young male subject matching the description of Dalton, called 911 and provided aid. Deputies responded to the residence and confirmed the subject was Dalton Loesch. Dalton was medically evaluated by first responders and found to be in good condition, with minor insect bites. Sheriff Wallin would like to thank the various agencies and community members who provided assistance and information during the search.

2013-07-16: The Emmet County Sheriff’s Office is currently working a missing child in the Harbor Springs Area. Thirteen year old, Dalton Loesch has been missing since July 15th, 2013 at 12 p.m. Sheriff Pete Wallin states, “Dalton was last seen running east into the woods, a quarter mile south of Island View Road.”

Dalton is a Hispanic male 4’8” 90 pounds, last seen wearing an orange/red shirt, blue shorts, and white tennis shoes. He wears glasses, has brown hair, and brown eyes. Sheriff Wallin states, “My office has activated a Child is Missing alert. This alert contacts citizens living in the area of the scene asking for information and to advise of the situation.” If you have any information you are asked to call (231) 439-8900.
