Elmer L. Doty was most recently President and Chief Executive Officer of Vought Aircraft Industries, Inc. a private company within a portfolio managed by The Carlyle Group. He was appointed to this position in early 2006 with the responsibility of strengthening the company’s performance and transacting the business. That goal was completed in July, 2010 when Vought was merged with the Triumph Group, Inc. (TGI) Prior to joining Vought, Mr. Doty was Executive Vice President of United Defense Industries (now BAE Systems), where he most recently managed the combat vehicle division. Mr. Doty has over thirty years of leadership experience in business, with General Electric, Black & Veatch, FMC Corporation, United Defense, BAE Systems, and Vought. Mr. Doty is a Director of Triumph Group, Inc., the Dallas Chapter of the American Heart Association, and the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute. He is also a member of the Board of Trustees of the Cooper Institute, and the Board of Governors of the Aerospace Industries Association. Mr. Doty earned a bachelor’s degree in nuclear engineering and a master’s degree in mechanical engineering from the University of Missouri, and Executive Education at Harvard Business School and University of Chicago. Mr. Doty and his wife Sandra reside in Dallas, Texas and Nassau, Bahamas and have four children.
