I wanted to leave a link, but forget my way around here. i have been following a few threads on City-Data -Forum . And see first hand how many adoptive parents have a feeling of entitlement, and seemingly "mental health issues"

Following the AP circuit
Truthfully, I try to limit my exposure to such sites as much as possible. Call it Post-Adoption PTSD.
However, an AP with a really great sense of humour and a realistic view of other APs sent me the following article, which fits surprisingly well with the idea that TMI is being shared between APs (about their adoptees), even if sometimes the efforts made by these APs are with the best intentions. [For more on my own experience with this subject-matter, see: What's taking place in that adoptive home? ]. The following was written by Stephanie:
Add this mind-set of APs to those who fill forums chock-full of angry and frustrated AP's chomping at the bit because they have adopted children who SEEM to exhibit "symptoms" of attachment disorders, RAD, ADHD, and of course, any and ALL learning disabilities OUT THERE, completely disregarding the fact that their much-wanted adoptee is from a foreign country, and barely knows English or regional American customs. [How many of us can move to a foreign country, master the language and lifestyle, and do so as quickly and as well as American APs expect their foreign-born adoptees to do, regardless of the effects stress, loss and grief have on a person?]
I find these AP networks "supporting one another" are doing more damage than good, but that's my POV, as an adoptee and mother.
Making matters worse, in my opinion, are the far-too-many "therapists" who post on threads, offering their own "experiences", which in-fact turn out to be not-so-subtle solicitations for their paid services. All too often these money-seeking goons add links that provide big elaborate "real-life stories", sharing similar case-scenarios experienced by OTHER APs who are not at all familiar with (or educated about) the ways stress and trauma affect development and learning in the classroom.
Welcome to Adoptionland in America. Ain't it GRRRRRRRRREAT?
entitlement
The sad fact is that the feeling of entitlement is universal across all types of parents and not limited to adoptive parents.
