Hello All, and especially Kalika, Bharati and Petra,

Thank you for the phone numbers for Nilima Mehta and Family Service Center.

Mine were really outdated!!!!!!

As will inevitably happen, our Prema has questions and unresolved feelings

about her birth parents. We have never tried to stop her asking questions,

or celebrating them or what have you. She has always felt guilty about it.

She has brought it up in her therapy sessions, has written several letters

and essays to/about her brith parents. She is also aware that her adoption

(like all other Indian adoptions) was a closed book adoption. We do NOT want

her going thru life (like some we have seen on this list,) with such

bitterness and frustrations in life.

Prema, like her name, is truly the beloved one, for us, her two brothers,

and all our extended family and friends. If visiting the place where she

spent the first few months of her life will help her, we are there for her.

Chris Futia lives a hop skip and a jump away from me. She is going to bring

over her Leo and Annie and we are going to let the three of them talk and

help Prema prepare for the expected emotional upheaval she is going to

experience.

What I have read of some of you have gone thru and are still going thru, I

thank God for all the gifts I have received in my beautiful wonderfully

exquistely painfully lovable dysfunctional family. Prema has gone thru a lot

and put us thru just as much if not more. But, it is behind us and every day

gets better. Thank you God.

And thank you, ladies, for coming thru with those phone numbers.

Regards,

Kantu
