ANGLETON — A man facing up to life in prison without parole will have another day in court in January after a judge declared a mistrial on Tuesday morning.

District Judge Randall Hufstetler ordered the mistrial after prosecutors and defense attorneys told jurors the Alvin defendant was eligible for probation on a count of indecency with a child. Legally, he is not eligible for probation if convicted by a jury.
