Sophie Fitzpatrick


7 year old girl adopted from China 5 years earlier was strangled by her adoptive mother. Kathrine Dufresne, aka Kathy Fitzpatrick, had self inflicted wounds when the 2 were discovered by the father (apparent failed murder-suicide). Dufresne was charged with murder but committed suicide in custody prior to the trial.

The effect of a photo

After all these years... after reviewing hundreds of archived cases, there still remains a small number of specific photos taken of now dead adoptees that really touch, hurt, and haunt me.

This poor little face will be among that unfortunate group.

There are days I leave PPL feeling really proud, inspired and strong...

And then there are nights like tonight that make me hurt so bad, I can't hide my crying.
