Outcome of case
In June 2012, Dan and Merily Pompa pled guilty to charges in connection with taking the children's trust money and were sentenced to 10 years probation and to make complete restitution of the trust money. Merily has a blog and tends to discuss her religious faith at length without going into the reasons why their family has had problems. The Pompas filed for bankruptcy, and the restitution order is not dischargeable. The Pompas wound up losing both homes they had purchased with the trust monies.
