Ethiopia - Johnson siblings

In May 2009, Pam & Juan Johnson adopted 3 bio siblings in Ethiopia aged 11, 8 and 7 at the time. They learned after the adoption, that the children's mother was healthy. Six months after the adoption, the oldest explained the 2 boys and a girl understood they were only in the US for an education. They had no idea the adoption severed ties with their mother. They expected to be able to regularly call and visit their mother in Ethiopia. The oldest boy wanted to visit her for the holidays.

In 2006, Johnsons adopted 3 other Ethiopia bio siblings. The eldest girl was said to be 11, but  was 16. The Johnsons were told the siblings had no one to care for them, that the 2 girls were destined for prostitution.Turns out the siblings had wealthy extended families, a place to live and food to eat. They would have never been put on the streets.

Both sets of Ethiopia siblings were adopted using Christian World Adoption. Johnsons also have a son from China.
