Through a national network of volunteer adoption specialists and by partnering with public and private agencies, AAN provides matching and support services to families who want to adopt special needs children, including, but not limited to child placement services; Internet family registration services; pre-adoption training; home study services; pre-and post-adoption services; and respite care referral. AAN reports to have provided 231 children in 2007 and 191 in 2008 with adoptive parents.
