Media update from Haut de la Garenne

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 10.15 AM ON WEDNESDAY 2 APRIL

A small update for you regarding Haut de la Garenne and the historic abuse inquiry today:

Work will continue on cellars 3 and 4 today, and the associated area.

No work is currently going on in the Courtyard at Haut de la Garenne.

Regarding cellar 3 - the team are going to try to access the cellar today.

Regarding cellar 4 - work has started today in terms of taking up the floor above the floorboards.

The incident team working in town continue to see victims and witnesses. Following the Panorama programme I am told we have had a few useful phonecalls with information.

I will continue to see if we have had any more calls in as the week progresses.

We have no planned media briefings today.
