From Lenny Harper in response to queries about 'missing child' at Haut de la Garenne:
‘Of course we cannot rule the possibility out that this could be a murder inquiry.
That is one of the reasons we are carrying out the operation at Haut de Le Garenne. However, we have no evidence to enable us to say that a homicide has occurred here.
As we have stated previously, we have to treat the scene as a major crime scene and possible homicide until proven otherwise.’
