Important personnel changes at States of Jersey Police

public

RELEASED TO MEDIA AT 9 AM ON WEDNESDAY 5 MARCH

Following an independent review of the historic abuse case it has been recommended that Lenny Harper becomes full time Investigating Officer and relinquishes the other duties of the Deputy Chief Officer.

Superintendent Shaun Du Val will act as temporary Deputy Chief Officer with Chief Inspector David Minty acting as temporary Superintendent.

Chief Officer Graham Power said: ‘Given the growing scale of the inquiry it is important that Lenny Harper is able to give the matter his full attention.   At the same time we have to continue to run the force and provide an effective day to day service to Islanders.

‘These arrangements are intended to achieve both of these objectives and also provide valuable learning experience for those officers who will occupy the temporary ranks.’
