Romania - Monica Baiaram case

Adrian and Bernadette Mooney arrested trying to leave Romania with a 5 month old Monica Baiaram. They were too old to adopt legally.

They had previously adopted a girl in Romania legally, but at 40 & 42 were too old to qualify. So they paid $6000 to middlemen who paid $500 to Monica's 17 & 15 yr old Roma birthparents. They were convicted and then pardoned and allowed to return to UK.
