Abuse victims to sue Barnardo's

public

A group of sex abuse victims are planning legal action against the charity, Barnardo's, over offences committed against them at one of its homes 30 years ago.

Last week a 51-year-old former houseparent, Philip Dunn, was jailed for 11 years after admitting abusing children at the Springhill home in Ripon, North Yorkshire.

Dunn pleaded guilty to offences against 17 children, including indecent assault and serious sexual assaults.

Dunn, a married father-of-four, was arrested after a two-year investigation by North Yorkshire police.

The offences all took place in the late 1960s and early 1970s. Eight charges were left on file.
