Man faces multiple sex-abuse charges

FUQUAY-VARINA -- A Fuquay-Varina man has been charged with several counts of sexual abuse involving a 14-year-old girl.

Wake sheriff's deputies charged James Matthew McDaniel-Webb, 46, with statutory rape, two counts of statutory sexual offense, indecent liberties with a child and another charge. He was released from the Wake County jail after posting bail totaling $250,000.

The girl was placed in the custody of the Wake County Department of Human Services.
