Escobedo Takes Stand On Third Day Of Capital Murder Trial

In a Lubbock courtroom Wednesday, jurors listened to a third day of testimony in the capital murder trial of Gilbert Escobedo.

The 42-year-old is charged with killing his 22-month-old nephew, Modesto Blanco. Wednesday, Escobedo testified in his own defense, crying when speaking about the incident with his lawyers.

The Lubbock County Medical Examiner also revealed autopsy photos to the court. The photos showed more than 70 bruises, cuts and scrapes on Modesto's body. Escobedo claims he accidentally injured the child when scolding him for drinking out of the toilet.
