Antioch police arrest woman on suspicion of abusing, killing adopted teenAntioch Unified School District is collecting donations to defray the funeral expenses of Jazzmin Davis, the 15-year-old former Antioch student who authorities say died Sept. 2 at the hands of her aunt following years of physical abuse.

Plans for a memorial service remain in limbo because of the financial strain those costs have placed on the teen's extended family, according to Gloria Ervin, director of student support services.

Donors should make checks payable to the Jazzmin Davis Memorial Fund and send them to the school district, which will hand them over to a bank that has opened an account in her name. Antioch Unified employees to date have contributed $295. The mailing address is 510 G St., Antioch, CA 94509.

Meanwhile, donations also are being collected on behalf of Jazzmin's twin brother, Jason, who survived the alleged abuse.

Checks should be made out to the Jason Davis Fund and include the notation "Account #56000" on the memo line. They can be mailed to or dropped off at Antioch Community Federal Credit Union, 301 G St., Antioch, CA 94509.
