Klaudt Hearing Postponed

public

A preliminary hearing that was scheduled today for former Republican state lawmaker Ted Klaudt in Pierre has been postponed until June 27th.

The delay will give prosecutors time to call a grand jury in hopes of indicting the rural Walker man for allegedly molesting several young girls who were in foster care at his home.

Klaudt was arrested two weeks ago and released on bond. He faces four counts of second-degree rape in Hughes County and ten sexual and other charges in Corson County.

Klaudt has hired Rapid City defense attorney Tim Rensch, who is a veteran in high-profile criminal cases.
