public

Another child has testified she was molested by Justin Erbacher, as Kern County’s highest-profile molestation case in years continued in Superior Court Monday.

The trial started last week with dramatic testimony by a 12-year-old foster child who said she and her sister were molested by both Erbacher, 24, and his 44-year-old father, Stephan Erbacher.

The 12-year-old told jurors the elder Erbacher threatened to kill himself if she told police what he had done. When police learned of the crimes from the girl’s sister, Stephan Erbacher shot himself as officers approached his house, according to Prosecutor Kimberly Marshall.

The younger Erbacher faces nine felony molestation charges of molesting four girls who were 9, 10, 11 and 14 at the time.

In testimony Monday, a girl testified she repeatedly asked Justin Erbacher to stop abusing her.

case is expected to last several weeks.
