VISALIA -- Jury selection begins today in the trial of a Springville woman charged with killing her 5-year-old adoptive daughter by ordering one of the child's siblings to sit on her as punishment.
Angela Thompson, 42, has pleaded innocent to killing her daughter, Rachel, and abusing two of her other 11 adoptive children by pricking their feet with pins and plunging their heads into water.
Potential jurors will fill out questionnaires that cover everything from their backgrounds to their feelings on issues regarding children, said prosecutor Kimberly Smith.
