Intimate relationships are the basis of all life, yet for those who have witnessed spousal abuse, or endured broken relationships through parental divorce, adoption or parental abandonment, trust and intimacy can become a tangled mess, with many hidden triggering issues that need to be worked-out and resolved in a way that feels safe for the one still hurting.

Adults who have been transfered to various care-givers during childhood present their own problems with personal relationships, because "continuous care" means nothing when the only constant in that child's life has been loss and pain.  Is it any wonder why a child who had parents frequently replaced will have difficulty accepting a single sexual mate?

This section explains why so many adults find intimate relationships so stressful, and how fearing loss can become a long-term losing situation. Above all else, PPL's Intimate Relationships explores why sex can become such a dark-issue when personal wants and needs get confusing for the person who seeks companionship, yet fears people.
