Calling all "graduates" from a RTC: How was your recovery?

I've gotten letters from adoptive parents who had to see their children go to a Residential Treatment Center, because there was no other option for these families being destroyed by the horrific behaviors RAD can often bring with it.

I'm told many of these RTC are usually far from the home the child has grown to know, and visitation is limited.  In fact, some have even complained that the children being sent to these RTC are not being "treated", (showing no signs of improvement), simply because these kids are being sent to live with and among others who share the same controlling and deviant behaviors that got a child placed in that facility, in the first place.

Some call RTC's a holding-home for would-be-criminals, since residency is for minors. and not adults.

Since RAD is a relatively "new" malady, given limited treatment, I think  it's only fair to ask how well the private RTC programs rate by those who have been exposed to their services.

Does anyone have a story worth sharing, supporting a treatment center's efforts, or warning others about a center that ought to be avoided?
