Larry S. Jenkins has a varied adoption practice. He represents private adoption agencies and has finalized hundreds of adoptions for families from Utah and many other states. He has handled numerous interstate agency and independent adoptions and has successfully defended several birth parent challenges. He is also experienced with placements involving the Indian Child Welfare Act.
Larry is co-chair of the Utah Adoption Council's legislative committee, which works with the Utah Legislature to improve adoption legislation in Utah. Larry has been active with several committees of the American Academy of Adoption Attorneys, working with other lawyers to ensure that adoptions are handled properly and expeditiously.
In 2005, Senator Orrin G. Hatch selected Larry as a recipient of an Angel in Adoption Award from the Congressional Coalition on Adoption Institute.
Larry graduated magna cum laude from Brigham Young University Law School, where he served as Managing Editor of the law review and was elected to Order of the Coif. Before private practice, he clerked for an Associate Chief Justice of the Utah Supreme Court. Larry joined Wood Crapo LLC as a member in 1993. Larry has been admitted to practice in the Utah Supreme Court and several federal courts, including the United States Supreme Court.
