According to the Comic Relief website (http://www.comicrelief.org/about/default.htm), the mission behind the 2006 show was to help the re-birth of New Orleans by raising funds for families affected by Hurricane Katrina, helping them rebuild their homes, and tangibly addressing causes that kept victims from escaping.
This sketch done by Dane Cook takes a twisted look at the poverty in Africa in a way that should make people think, "Where is the money is going when it comes to helping children, families and saving lives?"
Although the word "orphan" is not used, it certainly can be implied.

My all-time favorite line...
"This is the one Madonna didn't want".
In terms of "saving the orphans"... I think providing better in-community services is far smarter and much more humane than taking children away from the poor.
The question is: can help be given without elements of corruption creeping in and taking-over?
Does a child have to have a family-name taken away, just to to be helped or saved?
