yikes!
I have found myself with things I don't even remember buying! I'm in the process of selling what I bought
on eBay! I have to watch myself very closely as this is a form of self-soothing for me.

Buying Happiness
Since I'm not
workinggetting paid a salary, I'm not "allowed" to have money to play with, so shopping sprees are a thing of a past I can barely remember these days. Unfortunately for me, I DO remember how great it would feel coming home with bags of goodies for the kids, myself and the house... especially if I was able to find a lot of great discounts and bargains. [Anyone who thinks a woman doesn't know how to hunt and go for the kill hasn't seen a woman shopping at Marshalls/T.J. Maxx with $100.]I can't help it, I'm a girly-girl who likes to look pretty and decorate... but with four kids and a single-income, I know those little pleasures have to be sacrificed.
I posted an article a while ago about the psychology behind shopping: "Sad Shoppers Spend More", http://poundpuplegacy.org/node/14327#comment-3523
Funny thing about shopping -- as an adoptee who was sold as an export-orphan-bastard, I see something very twisted about the power and possibilities behind a good purchase. It bothers me to think: how many men and women are there willing and wanting to travel and buy a child, just so they can feel happy and good about themselves?
I just thank God adoptions can't be made through ebay. Not yet, at least.
LOL???
My youngest was watching me list auctions on eBay when he saw a little girl modeling an outfit that was up
for bids. He said, "are they selling a girl?" I laughed, but inside I was crying...
