Thirty-five-year-old Lisa Boss Green has been sentenced to 50 years in prison for the beating death of her 10-year-old adopted son, Timothy Boss.

Green pleaded guilty to voluntary manslaughter, attempted murder, child endangerment and to willful injury in Timothy's death. He was killed in February, 2000.

Green's ex-husband, Donald Boss, was convicted of first-degree murder in the boy's death.

State police went to the Boss home in January 2002 after relatives in Michigan became concerned about Timothy's absence.

His body was found buried in the basement.

Lisa Boss Green says she didn't kill her son. She says she lied about his absence only to protect her children from Donald Boss.

The couple had seven biological children. Timothy was one of four special needs children adopted in Michigan.
