Judge Denies Bond to Two People Accused of Starving and Abusing Three Boys

LYMAN, Spartanburg - Two people are behind bars accused of tying up their three boys and starving them.

When the boys were admitted to the hospital, the 8-year-old weighed only 39 pounds, and the seven-year-old weighed 32 pounds, while the 5-year-old was just 19 pounds.

Doctors say the boys are bruised, and that burn marks litter the back of their knees. One of the boys is so starved, he can't stay awake.

All three boys had been living with their great-aunt Molly McCurry and her husband Dennis at their home in Lyman.

A basketball goal, swing set and pool fill the backyard, but neighbors tell us they seldom saw the boys outside. The boys are recovering in the hospital.

McCurrys are charged with intentional infliction of great bodily injury upon a child. When police were sent to the home by a telephone tip, they found the three boys severely underweight.

A judge has denied the McCurrys' bond.
