save for editing

I'm having to compose in email and then cut and paste over!

Sometimes it takes days to express myself, so the one shot only nature of this text editor is a little stressful.

(I really do like all the features you've included, though!)

group?

If you want the ability to save a post before publishing it, I can create a personal private group for you. With that you have you own list of posts you want to publish. By posting in your own group and unchecking "public", no one but you will see it and you can pick up on it any other time.

nah

i just figured it was a plug-in you could add to the program.
i'm too proned to flub / over look public vs. private, so my undigested thoughts would end up polluting the site.
i'll just save drafts in my email

New Content

Hi!

I noticed the NEW POSTS portion on the home page has less items in it than the RECENT POSTS that you reach through the side bar, under Content. So now I know better, but a newer than me person wouldn't.

Also, it might be nice of Discussions were listed under Content? (If you don't want them to show up as New Posts?)

Sorry I'm a pain - but I have the advantage of being new, so I can catch things you might be immune to...

btw, I've never seen such a great list of reading material...i wish you could read them TO me!

re: new content

I noticed the NEW POSTS portion on the home page has less items in it than the RECENT POSTS that you reach through the side bar, under Content. So now I know better, but a newer than me person wouldn't.

And that is deliberately so. The NEW POSTS portion on the home page only shows those items that have been tagged with terms that somehow relate to the main topics we cover.

The RECENT POSTS that you reach through the side bar, under Content, doesn't look at tags and shows all items posted. On top of that the RECENT POSTS show not only the new posts, but also those posts that have recently been commented.

Also, it might be nice of Discussions were listed under Content? (If you don't want them to show up as New Posts?)

I want New Posts to contain the discussions. Your post Adoption on Wikipedia need Updating doesn't show in the New Posts on the home page because the term "media" is not related to any of the topics and themes of the home page. What do movies say about the one you love? is a discussion too and it shows in the New Posts because the chosen term is related to Intimate relationships.

I'd like to see the behaviour of the front page as a feature. So far it has not been described or explained before, so it is good you ask these questions. Others might read this.

ok

i see i am being trained to think thematically (which will probably never happen, unless there is some on-the-fly menu forcing me to)
i will TRY to add a tag every time.

Discussions are an interesting subject, though.
While I love the blog format, for discussions the old bulletin boards with threads are much easier to sift through.
Blog posts with comments tend to lose steam way more rapidly than discussions on boards do, and then they get buried.
