We're leaving together
But still it's farewell
And maybe we'll come back
To earth, who can tell?

I guess there is no one to blame
We're leaving ground
Will things ever be the same again?
It's the final countdown...

We're heading for Venus
and still we stand tall
Cause maybe they've seen us
and welcome us all
With so many light years to go and things to be found

I'm sure that we'll all miss her so
It's the final countdown...
The final countdown...
It's the final countdown.

"The more things change the more they stay the same"

I saw a commercial for God-knows-what that had this song playing.  It's a good tune.  A tune from the big hair-bands.  If you go to the you-tube site, and read the comments, you read how much teens want to hear these songs and re-live 80's rock.

It seems each generation looks back, thinking the previous generation had it "easier".

Better.

Maybe that's because more parents were home.

Maybe that's because less kids were being sold and sent away.

I don't know.

I was sold AND sent away.

I do know I would never do that to another person.

I also know I'm different from most people I know.

That's why I keep to myself.

Here's to keeping to ourselves.
