Ciga-butts

What's with drinking and smoking?

More importantly, what's with sloppy emotional drunks who get all weepy but suddenly serious and mad when they can't find their butts or lighters?

Safety matches

Ooooh you got me there. Not being able to find my cigarettes or lighter can easily get me in a state of panic. As long as those two are within reach I'm safe.

What's the panic?

Is that like some binky-bottle thing?

(Oral fixation for those smarty-pants out there)

Replacement Parts

Jump-off-the-Kliff-Klavin-Kerry here again with my theory:

I think when people start sharing their emotional baggage, they get to a certain point when they need to be touched by another person.  (You know, hugged, held, comforted, that sort of thing)  In a bar, or with certain groups of people, this may not be appropriate, so reaching out for something like a glass or something to smoke can be a good body-replacement and way to trick the mind into preoccupying it's need to be fed comfort from another person.

When we were babies, that needed comfort came from a mother's breast.  Or at least for those who were kept, loved and nurtured it was.
