MEDINA - A Montville Township woman whose husband was sentenced to 20 years in prison for sexually assaulting an 8-year-old girl will spend three months in jail for abusing the same girl and another child.

Tammy Steidl, 45, of 4417 Sharon Copley Road, pleaded no contest Wednesday in Medina Municipal Court to first-degree misdemeanor charges, which included three counts of domestic violence and three counts of endangering children.

Court records show the alleged incidents occurred within the last two years. Judge Dale Chase also placed her on probation for four years and she must pay more than $1,600 in court fines.

Her husband, Earl Steidl, 42, pleaded guilty to a first-degree felony rape count (child under 13 years old), and two counts of gross sexual imposition and one count of tampering with evidence - all third-degree felonies. He was sentenced in February by Common Pleas Judge Christopher J. Collier.

Earl Steidl's incidents against the girl occurred in 2003.
